SAIL bookshelf
Can a bookshelf be stiffened with a cord?
Sail Bookshelf combines a sinuous profiled shape with the stiffness of columns and shelves shaped frames.
Once again the strings have a structural and aesthetic value: this time to prevent lateral deformations substituting stiffening crosses known as “St Andrew’s crosses”.
Their nature becomes bright observing the weaves: shelves and columns retract allowing the strings, that connect only the outer zones of the bookshelf, to pass.
The bookshelf can be used both leaning on a wall and as a partition between areas: even the “back” is exciting and enjoyable.
The bookshelf is available in 4 kinds of wood, 4 thicknesses and 2 colours for the strings:
Fluorescent fuchsia and fluorescent green
Fir
Beech
Larch
Pine
